Purpose
The Centre for Creative Writing and African Languages (CCWAL) at the Sol Plaatje University seeks to attract a suitable candidate for its fully funded Nurturing Emerging Scholars (NESP) Programme. The NESP, an initiative of the Department of Higher Education and Training, provides opportunities for postgraduate studies and development as a first step into an academic career. The incumbent will be required to complete a two-year Master’s qualification in Creative Writing, after which a one-year internship at the host university will follow.

requirements
- A minimum of 65% average attained in an appropriate NQF level 8 qualification with Creative Writing or Literature (inclusive of some modules in Creative Writing) as a major.
- 35 years or younger.
- South African citizenship or permanent residency status.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Good computer skills.
- Good organisational and planning skills.
During the duration of the programme, it will be expected of the NESP candidate to fulfill some of the following duties:
- Lecturing,
- Tutoring,
- Mentoring,
- Research,
- Community engagement, and
- Administrative duties related to the above.
